Petrol price rises

Recommended Posts

I think its ridiculous the way prices keep rising

But, as others have already explained, price rises can be due to:

a. the crude oil;

b. UK-based inflation in delivery costs etc; or

c. HMG taxes and duties imposed.

or

d. Bit of trouble in the region, so lets use that as an excuse to raise the price

How many pounds have the government printed this year? Money backed by nothing?

If you had lots of petrol (and you knew there will always be a market for petrol) Would you want to sell off your petrol for devalued pounds or would you be tempted to ask for a better price?

Should the price of petrol be tied to the value of gold?
