The Buckley family tree

Recommended Posts

I am doing both sides of my family tree, but on this thread I want to concentrate on my dads side.

My father was called Ronald Buckley.Born 27th December 1922.

His parents were:-

George Henry Buckley

Annie Buckley formally Needham

The only things I have at present is my dads birth and death certs.

From the birth cert it says they lived on Fowler St in Pitsmoor, but by the time I came along they had moved to Woodside Lane at the top of Rugby St.

I would be very grateful of any help with this as I am still learning and quiet green on these things.

Thankyou

Had a quick look on the 1901 census and there is only one George Henry Buckley in this area. Does this fit with what you know about him? Hope this helps you.

Hi CF St Johns is at Ranmoor opposite the Ranmor Inn ( my local) I was married there and my kids were baptised there. Lovely church, I'm sure they're used to people hunting down their ancestors.

There is a marriage on FreeBMD for your father's parents.

What is George Henry BUCKLEYS occupation on your father's birth certificate?

This looks like the family in 1911.

BUCKLEY, George Henry Head Married M 29 1882 Labourer Siemens Furness Yorks Sheffield

BUCKLEY, Annie Wife Married 6 years F 29 1882 Yorks Sheffield

BUCKLEY, Ivy Daughter F 5 1906 Yorks Sheffield

BUCKLEY, Winifred Daughter F 1 1910 Yorks Sheffield

Address:

The census also states that they have had 4 children and 4 are still living, but only 2 are shown living with them on the census.

Also try one of the Family History sites.

Hi,

I was just reading your letters regarding the "Buckley family tree Sheffield" . Well I,m a Buckley from Chesterfield and although I have never done my family tree history I do know that my Grandad was a Sheffielder and his name was Joseph and was born on Walkley street Sheffield in the year 1875 (I think this is around Attercliffe). He had my father in 1915 and myself being born in 1956. I do know he had a very intersting army life, being in China, India and the Boer war in South Africa (having been wounded there).

If you think there is a link please let me know.

Regards,

Peter.
