Whats happened to the woods @ Strines

Driving down past the Strines pub on Mortimer Road right at the bottom near the bad bend, all the trees have been chopped down. What the hells happening with our country side.

I saw that last week.It is forestry comission so maybe they are clearing it for renewal puposes or whatever it's called.Unless it has already been sold!

was it ancient woodland or mainly pine and spuce simmilar to the woods around Ladbower?

Hardly 'ancient'. Agden and Wigtwizzle commons were both open heathland until the reservoir was built.
