One for the Blades fan's (Tony Currie)

Recommended Posts

From what ive seen of Currie he was a good division 2 player, the season your talking about him being great he played in a United Team that finished runners up in the 2nd tier of English football winning only 50% of there 42 games. He wasn't even pitting his wits in the top tier.

Di Canio was a exceptional player with very much skill and swagger and look very good in the top division of English Football playing against and making some of the best defenders in the World look stupid.

Both these players had arrogance on the field and one had it off the field too and it wasn't the foriegner.

Five out of eight seasons Currie played for United were in the top flight, he made fools of some greats including Alan Ball.

Making a great point like that Alex soon brings a thread to a screeching halt when they have no reply ...A bit like that star online thread :hihi::hihi:

Di Canio a football genius they say there is littlle difference in a mad man and a genius that certainly applied to him.

Tony Currie was the best player to play for either side in the last 50 years even many Wednesdayites have said so.

Sorry mate I don't know one Owl who thought Currie was better than the waddler.

Did i just read it right on Wikipedia that DiCanio only played 41 matches for the owls ?

Seems he was pitting his wits in the top tier but not for you lot....Tell you what mate I would rather have TC blowing kisses to the crowd than the foriegner and his salutes if you know what i mean

Here's a clip of TC the Legend in his prime and kissing the big crowd..

:hihi::D

Wikipedia also states that Top Cat played his best football at Elland Road, which means he must be a Legend up there aswell :hihi::hihi:

Dooley was better than both of them and he couldn,t pass a ball 10 yards nea mind 40.

Dooley played when football was played how it was meant to be i.e.5 forwards,3 half backs, 2 full backs and a goalie. The whole point of the game being to score more goals than the other side instead of as now putting often up to 9 players behind the ball and doing as much as possible to create a stalemate.

Who started this daft system that has taken so much entertainmant out of the game ,

Getting back to Dooley the centre halves [is that what they are still called] that are playing now wouldn't have lasted till half time he would have put them as well as the ball in the onion bag.

To finish i have read somewhere on here how every body loved some long haired puff blowing kisses to the crowd i can,t get my breath!

Like I say Dooley was before my time but records show he scored 1/2 his goals in the old 2nd division where as Layne scored all his in the 1st.

Yer right about current players though overpaid ponses who the press bum up to high hell, they wouldn't have lasted 10mins against the likes of Harris,Mackay and even Swanny.
