altus   540 #77 Posted March 11, 2011 As this conference goes on to Sunday. I wonder what provision has been made for those who may be making their way to Church? I believe there is a legal right to worship on a Sunday and not be obstructed from it.  Which places of worship do you think might be obstructed? I can't think of any. damo   10 #79 Posted March 11, 2011 St Matthews Carver Street ?  In the unlikely event it will be closed, other places of worship are available, so the argument that someone is being denied a place to worship on a Sunday is total rubbish. altus   540 #80 Posted March 11, 2011 St Matthews Carver Street ?  Carver Street isn't planned to be closed. Although the bit where it crosses Division Street might have a march from Devonshire Green to Barkers Pool walking across it, that won't block access from the Charter Square end. Squiggs   11 #81 Posted March 11, 2011 Or the socialist worker party as they are officially known. Revolution in 5 years and all that rubbish No it will NOT be the SWP  They will be present and some will irritatingly attach themselves prominently and claim it to be "their" demonstration and ask you to sign "their" petitions  That does not mean that everyone there is a vanguardist trot
 Share this content via...
wednesday1   10 #82 Posted March 11, 2011 1I'm guessing most will be regulars, last week they were protesting about police cuts, then Libya, then teachers pensions and now the conference.  2 The best advice for them would be to get a job, have a shave and shut up.   1 Are these not legitimate things to protests about   2 Most I'll bet are there because they want to remain in a job. Grandad.Malky   11 #83 Posted March 11, 2011 (edited) How’s this for British justice then.   You get a copper knocking on your door at 5am , with your son being out for the night you answer the door expecting the worst only to be told your sons car will have to be moved.  At 7.30 by the time your son gets back from hs mates to move the car it as been towed away and there is a £150 recovery fee. We will both be there tomorrow, shave or no shave!......exercising our democratic right to protest (while it is still considered democratic!)
