Anyone Work For BT ??

Recommended Posts

hi folks,

i was activated with BT INFINITY on 16th february, have had constant issues with the speed dropping and rising and dropping again...

should be getting at least 38-40 megabyte, but regularly do speed tests on http://www.speedtest.net/

but

regularly get speeds around 15 megabyte

plus

today the 1st march, my phone line went dead and can not ring out and also have internet speeds of around 1 megabyte

i have rang BT about 4 times regarding this and their excuse is 10 days stabilization process crap

so wondering if i can just cancel out of it, BT INFINITY = BULL**** TELECOM

This shows that your service is well below average.

My understanding from someone who uses BT's broadband services for numerous business links is that the stablisation period is not tosh - or at least not for ADSL ones.

To be fair. I was told the same thing many years ago when i went uncapped with AOL (take the urine all you want but i bet my net over the last 6 years has been active and more stable than 90% of you :P ). For the first week it was all over the place with random disconnections. Eventually it settled on 6.1mb (hard to get over that where i am due to the line having to circumvent a train line), and hasn't moved at any point since (that i have noticed).

You got it on the 16th? and its the 3rd of March now and they are telling you it takes 10 days to settle / become stable. Didnt you point it out it's been 14 days already?

The 10 day "training period" shouldn't have anything to do with the voice service dropping out.. As much as i understand all the process involves is your modem and the kit in the cabinet trying different speeds and then communication the effects between themselves to find the fastest / most stable connection on your line.

If you've no dial tone etc then thats 99% got to be a fault on the line, suspect an engineer needs to look at the connection between your line and the two cabinets.

If you have been downloading lots of data BT will be restricting your speed, BT are tw*ts for that.

Looks like you stuck on the ****ty end of a 12 month contract now.

reported the fault on through the BT website as it was only way i could get in touch with them

they have just rung me today on my mobile saying there is a network fault on my line, so said they will look into it and if necessary send an engineer out to look at the wires and equipment etc...

got a text as well saying the following...

HELLO, BT HERE...

WE AIM TO FIX YOUR FAULT BY 5PM ON 07/03/2011

IF THE PROBLEM IS NOT WITH BT EQUIPMENT,

YOU MIGHT HAVE TO PAY A CHARGE OF £130

THANKS.
