Wanting to adopt a young female rat, possibly two.

Hi, some of you may remember my thread about my ancient ratty girls Pippin and Pansy, the oldest mother and daughter rat combo I've ever known. Pippin passed away a few weeks ago at the tender age of 3 1/2 and Pansy is not coping with my two year old bossy girl Pearl. I've had to split them up and I'm now looking for a companion or two for Pearl, before she starts to pine.

I've been looking online but can't seem to find any that need rehoming, I know there must be some out there, there always are.

So can anyone help, or point me in the direction of rats needing a loving home?

If Domino keeps me awake for another night she will find herself in the rehoming section!:hihi: Why does newspaper HAVE to be rearranged at 3am? :loopy:

Yes, check with Lilly and go from there, sadly plenty about, just maybe not in this area!

You need some earplugs - I've found them to be sooo useful when sleeping in a room full of animals :hihi:

Yes, I need better ones (I had some in) plus I was in a completely different room! She decided that her house was not to her inexplicably high standards!

Shavings really aren't good for rats, the dust can damage their delicate respiratory system. You need to change over to something paper based, like cardboard squares (Lottie on here supplies them), or even just newspaper. If you have someone in the family who likes beer then cardboard packso f beer can be torn into squares too.

There's some good advice on cage sizes, food and substrate here: http://fancy-rats.co.uk/information/ If you got them from a pet shop there's a good chance you've been highly misinformed so I would have a read and learn more about your new pets. Good luck!:)
