A Mash or a Brew?

Would you call a cuppa tea a Mash or a Brew?? I think Sheffield Folk usually go with Mash!

i go for mash a cuppa but thats ussually as i refer to tea, if its coffee its usually mek us a coffe lol x

Well I would say "make a cuppa tea/coffee" but then I am Scottish and had never heard the expression "mash" before I moved here, only mash I know is the potato kind,lol.

Live in Lancashire now and they say BREW but I still say MASH.

 

The Lancs even call breadcakes teacakes ie plain teacakes & currant teacakes. I have tried to educate them as any Yorkshireman would but they will not change.

I don't call the actual tea mash, but I do call the process of making a cuppa mashing. If that makes sense?
