HeadingNorth   11 #6 Posted January 26, 2011 It's logically impossible to prove you are not married. No matter how many times you don't produce a marriage certificate, it's always possible that there is a marriage certificate lying around somewhere you haven't looked yet.   I'm amazed that the Ibizan/Spanish authorities are daft enough to require an impossibility. Rupert_Baehr   10 #8 Posted January 26, 2011 Could it be that the Spanish authorities will do whatever they can (get away with) to avoid paying out benefits?
 Share this content via...
foxy lady   10 #9 Posted January 26, 2011 It isn't uncommon, but is usually only required if you intend getting married abroad. The norm is to go to your local registery and get them to issue a declaration that they have looked through the records and you have not married from---to.  Most countries will also accept a written statement from yourself declaring that you are single, and countersigned by a notary. Alien   10 #11 Posted January 26, 2011 An active sexlife is also usually a good indicator.  But just as difficult if not more so than proving you're not married.  It's logically impossible to prove you are not married. Unless of course there is such a thing as a 'not married' certificate.
 Share this content via...
