I totally agree and for this reason, I haven't watched any of this series. It also seems to be really repetitive, and it seems to be as if they're flogging a dead horse (no pun intended!).

I have to say, at first, this show was one of my guilty pleasures. The blinding bling! The amazing giant gowns! The insistence on a once in a lifetime colossal wedding for their daughters with no mention of college educations!

 

The pros: Like Jersey Shore, it gave me a glimpse into a subculture I'd have never known existed if not for TV.

 

The cons: As others have pointed out, the animal abuse, the blatant misogyny, the pathological desire of these girls to ruin their lives, the 'victim' mentality that seems pervasive amongst this group of people.

 

I'd like to see them do a follow up after five years or so.

Just watched the BFGW of Cheyenne and John. I wonder how she felt when she saw him telling the world that the reason he wanted to marry her so young was so that by the time she was twenty he'd have 'moulded' her exactly as he wanted, so she'd be the perfect wife for him.
