My uncle Maurice Newton was the musical director at the Empire Theatre on Charles St in Sheffield at that time ,there are various publications to his and other orchestras around at that time. Try Curtain Up at the Empire by john Firminger and Dave Manvell. Thanks for the memories by Leslie Frost, also by Les is Seats in all parts.
