Damp proof cost

Hi

 

Can anyone let me know how much damp proofing a mid terrace house wuld cost. been quoted £4k for half wall and £5.5k for full wall. Did not think it would cost this much?

I assume it's rising damp which usually goes to about 1 metre above the floor level (mostly on older properties). If it definitely is this then they usually chisel off the plaster then inject silicone fluid into the brick/stonework, then re-plaster after when dry. You can, if competent, hire the equipment yourself. Other posters I'm sure will give you more detailed advice.

use the company opposite Hillsborough Barracks if they are still on the go - it were Sentinel - admittedly used them 18 years ago but they were really good and honest - at that time and used them since 6 years ago for a quote/inspection when we moved here free survey on home and what needed doing.
