medusa   16 #61 Posted June 18, 2011 My yucca was looking pretty dead at the end of the winter but now has a 6 foot flower spike busy making it's way into the world like a triffid, so I have to assume that the roots and the base of the stems were fine.  The bay laurel, on the other hand, didn't make it and was, to all intents and purposes, dead, so it came out and got replaced by a smaller and newer plant of the same. I'll be more careful with prolonged very cold weather in future.
 Share this content via...
sskirrrow   10 #62 Posted June 18, 2011 Yes a lot of thick leaved evergreens did not fare too well, especially when placed in full sun. They went from being totally frozen overnight to been instantly cooked in the sun. Bit like putting a frozen chicken on full power in a microwave. Those that were in shade or partial shade fared a lot better.
 Share this content via...
