Pete Postlethwaite dies

A fine, very watchable actor who was a little under-used.

Maybe that's what made him so good - quality, not quantity?

lets not forget he was in When Saturday Comes, proof even that great actors make bad films.

loved him as Hakeswill in Sharpe and Kobayashi in Usual Suspects, not forgetting Guiseppe Conlon in In The Name of the Father

I was saddened to hear the news about the death of Pete Postlethwaite, a fine talented actor.

A brilliant actor indeed, not least because he was so versatile and could fit like a glove into any part he played (the very opposite of, some famous actors who always seem to be playing themselves). A list of his memorable performances would be long indeed. I saw him act on the stage several times and he was just as good in theatre as he was in film.

Was it Spielberg who put him as the worlds best? I can't argue with that but he must have an equal somewhere. For me he was one of those actors that if he played in it you wanted to watch it. Gladly we have some brilliant British talent waiting to fill roles that would have been destined for him I'm sure. Tragic loss.
