Not sure why its closed but for clarification its the A57 from Coisley Hill roundabout heading towards Drakehouse, aka the mad mile.

There was an accident at Coisley Hill end, when we came past at 12.30. Carried on through Woodhouse to get back to Beighton.

I don't know what happened and hope that no one was hurt, but it is a road where you need you to be extra careful, a lot of drivers like to speed on due to the straightness of it. As noticed this afternoon driving on it towards the roundabout at the bottom of Coisley hill when a big black merc coming from there went into the middle onto the chevrons and went flying past everyone in the fog.
