dave hill   10 #111 Posted February 21, 2012 Used to get my hair cut at Lightening Freds. Shop was between Barrack and I think there was a glass fronted cafe on the corner of Bamforth and Penistone Road. Worked at Daniel Doncasters from '65-'82. Bought my paper at "Mac's" every morning.  The pawn shop was on the corner of bamforth st ,the entrance was directly on the corner, next door was freds next was a sweet shop then the cafe ,on the corner was a fish and chip shop . a fish was 3 pence in real money in 1963 and if you took a bird to flix you really got what you asked for , a seat full of bugs
 Share this content via...
