shoreham4eva   10 #1 Posted December 19, 2010 Made a trip up to see the parents this morning and our old man is the retired armchair type, in his 70's who heavily studies the racing post on a daily basis before heading off to the bookies to back a few losers  However as big a believer as he is in "horses for courses" etc, he's also a massive believer of bogie "teams". Regardless of form or squads etc, he goes back in his mind god knows how many years and makes a decision on how the team have gone on in the fixture over the years.....  Anyway i'm not saying he's a betting genius, the money he has donated to various bookies around Sheffield proves that he's not, however on the phone Friday night he said to me "Wednesday are gonna lose that one, they've never won at Exeter away", I told him tims had changed etc etc but he wasn't having any of it, like I said he believes in bogie fixtures and was addament that wednesday would lose.  Anyone else take into consideration the old fashioned "Bogie team" system? or maybe have an older relative who uses a similar system? Earwiggo   10 #6 Posted December 19, 2010 Chelski used to be a proper bogie team for Wednesday. Cup game, Wednesday 3 Chelsea 0 at half time. Full time 4-4. Chelski won the replay.  Very rare we beat them around that 10 or 15 years. We dreaded the fixture coming up.  And Arsenal ........................ and Everton. John_S6 Â Â 10 #7 Posted December 20, 2010 Arsenal are one of Wednesdays bogie teams. Â 1-1, 1-0, 2-0, 0-0, 1-0, 3-1, 0-1, 1-0. 1-1, 3-3, 1-1, 2-0, 2-1, 1-1 Â Only 1 defeat in our last 14 home league games against Arsenal - not too many teams in the country who can match that record! Â Shame we had such a woeful record against them at Highbury and Wembley though
 Share this content via...
HeadingNorth   11 #8 Posted December 20, 2010 It's a fairly useless statistic without knowing how often they've played there.  Did you know that Manchester United have never beaten Doncaster at the Keepmoat stadium? It hardly makes Doncaster one of their bogey teams!
 Share this content via...

It hardly makes Doncaster one of their bogey teams!  wednesday have played five times at exeter, lost four and drawn one.  They went there with Jack Charlton as manager needing a win to secure promotion and lost 1-0.  They still got promoted that season. There's one club that the Blades have played 11 times away in the league and our record is Won-0, Drawn-4, Lost-7. Can anyone name that club?
