MC Spyda   10 #109 Posted July 5, 2011 I think both Katie Price and Peter Andre are complete and utter arseholes who are just using the kids to their own advantage. Especially Peter, acting like butter wouldn't melt, while parading the kids around on TV. It's worse than those dodgy American pagents. *_ash_*   88 #110 Posted July 5, 2011 With breathtaking hypocrisy, Jordan's desperately trying to revive her flagging career by making a documentary about the whole Boyle joke. We all know she has the morals of an alleycat but thrusting her disabled kid into the spotlight against its will to get herself publicity is really scraping the barrel!  http://celebrity.uk.msn.com/news/price-my-message-for-frankie-boyle I can't believe I watched this programme (I was flicking channels). I missed the beginning though, did it have a warning at the start which said it would contain [potentially] offensive material? (the joke being repeated I mean, not her - embarrassing herself and her son in public). Personally, I'd forgotten about it, and have never heard anyone mention it since the day or two after it. Whilst I am no fan of KP, I have to give her kudos for coming to the defence of her son. Boyle's "joke" was not at all funny, and was directly offensive toward a defenceless, disabled child. Kudos for defending her son? Parents will almost always defend their children, she did it after the incident by writing in the papers. I can't see any reason for making a 'documentary' about it, other than the post above.
 Share this content via...
pitsmoorlad   10 #111 Posted July 5, 2011 (edited) Everything and anything is fair game to make a joke about, and yes that includes things like the disabled and rape. A joke is a joke. However, the Jordan joke was just terrible regardless. Not funny at all.   I agree with the 2nd part of your post, but not with the first part. Everything and anything are no longer fair game. What if he'd done a joke about a black person or an Asian. Even in the days of Bernard Manning, he wouldn't have told a joke about a severely handicapped kid, yet he's hated because he told jokes about women, the Irish, and ethnic minorities. In my opinion, if you have to tell jokes about rape and Handicapped kids, you're not "being on the edge", you're scraping the bottom of the barrel to try to get laughs.  p.s. I can't stand Katie Jordan Price, and wish she'd fade quickly into the obscurity she deserves, along with all the other no talent wannabee celebs. What does matter is the time and the place, which I can appreciate. A comedian has to know who their audience is and the audience should be aware of what kind of comic they are watching.  Plenty of comedians make jokes about different races.  I don't care what the joke is about, if it's funny, it's funny, regardless of the topic. SheffieldMus   10 #114 Posted July 5, 2011 "When Harvey is older I would love him to be able to have a simple job like stacking shelves at a supermarket, there will be something he can do that is useful."  I found this comment far far sicker than Boyle's joke which i didnt find funny by the way. SheffieldMus   10 #115 Posted July 5, 2011 I have to quote all three of you and agree. It's been just under 8 months since the 'joke' was aired (end of November/beginning of December 2010). It's now July 2011. Things have been quiet on the Price front for a while now and her latest show prior to "defending Harvey" dive-bombed quicker than an Aichi D3A at Pearl Harbour. This was nothing more than a publicity stunt.  I have a strong doubt she actually cares for any of the kids unless they can sell column inches or secure another book/TV deal, but that is entirely my own opinion.  She reminds of Kerry katona when it comes to parenting. Amazingly miss koketona won the mum of the year once:loopy:
 Share this content via...
gularscute   10 #116 Posted July 7, 2011 It should have been obvious that the joke was based on Price's lack of responsibilty and parental empathy, not an attack on her son's disability.
 Share this content via...

rubydazzler   11 #119 Posted July 7, 2011 "Sums up the only thing she is fit for not her son. If god actually exists it won't be long before this media whore gets the same treatment as goody. That is a truly vile and despicable remark to make. Jade Goody was a mother of young children too, just trying to provide for them in a world inhabited by people self righteous hypocrites. How do people with your level of evil sleep at night? ISTR that this topic was discussed on SF ad nauseum at the time it actually happened and there were just as many slugs coming out from under their stones that time, too.  No offence to real slugs intended, of course.
