Internet Drivers - who? Where? How Much?

Recommended Posts

I re-installed Windows (Vista) on my home PC and it now won't connect to the internet. I've been told by a Virgin Media technician that we need to get the internet drivers re-installed by someone.

Can anyone on here suggest where to go and how much this might cost please?

What make and model is your PC ?

this first ^ motherboard details etc

then download the drivers onto a CD.Memory stick dongle etc

can someone grab them for you friend - neighbour

you'll need them for your graphics card, sound card, ethernet etc

its handy to have them backed up anyway onto CD etc

Is it connecting to your network at home?

There are no such things as internet drivers, but maybe they meant drivers for your network interface card.

If the laptop is capable of running Vista, it's highly unlikely you'll need drivers for your NIC.

Are you using wireless? Perhaps you need drivers for your wifi card.

You should be able to plug your laptop into your router with a network cable (a few quid from Maplin, if you don't have one), and connect to the internet.

Then you can download your wifi card drivers and unplug it to use it wirelessly.
