anywebsite   10 #73 Posted December 23, 2010 How are you planning on affording a Midwifery degree then?  I've heard there are lower or no fees & possibly even a maintenance grant if your income is below a certain threshold. The op should check on that.  It'll still be tough though, it'll take 3 or 4 years to qualify before you can get a job. If it's what you want to do, then it'll be worth it. 50's chick   10 #75 Posted December 24, 2010 hi  i do feel for you and know exactly where your coming from. i worked freelance up to september this year and haven't worked since because of a head injury. i've applied for numerous jobs as i can't do what i did before but in 3 months after 105 applications i haven't even had an interview. my problem seems to be being over qualified for a lot of stuff and its hard for an employer to uderstand that just because you have degrees it doesn't mean you want a degree level job (for me those days are done for good now unfortunately).  i wish you all the best in your search and hope something comes up for you soon
 Share this content via...
John   11 #76 Posted December 25, 2010 Always aim your C.V. as to not show that you are over qualified for the position.  The one reason why employers don't hire over qualified people is that they will move on quickly when a better oppotunity arises.
