As the problem is outside it is not recommended to use traps or poisons! you may find you will catch hedgehogs, cats, squirrels and other animals. Poisons should be used in doors or in bait boxes that avoid non-target species. Â Shooting will help to control the infestation but will probably never rid it. There will be rats reproducing all over the place in a situation like this. Â A professional pest controller would most likely lay bait boxes down.
