metalman   21 #1 Posted December 7, 2010 According to this, Leeds has 12 pound shops and Bradford 11, but Sheffield doesn't even get a mention! Is this a sign that Sheffield is going upmarket, or just a sign that some of ours have been closed down and replaced by a pile of rubble? Bonjon   10 #4 Posted December 7, 2010 My work recentley moved to Wakefield, and walking around the town center round here is amusing, on one stretch there is about 3 gold for cash/cheque advance shops, iceland, jack fultons, wilko's, 2 or 3 betting shops, and various pound/pound want to be shops all in a row.  Then there are the knuckle draggers who inhabit the city center.  Sheffield now seems very upmarket!! Then where the new market will eventually be built, there was a "Poundworld" at Moorfoot, (where the shops were that have been demolished opposite Atkinson's) but that seems to have relocated to Peaks, too.
