Power cuts this winter?

Recommended Posts

What do you think of the news from the CBI that if we have a bad winter there could be power cuts because we are running out of North sea gas. It will be 2 years before we have the pipe work in place to import gas.

Everybody needs to get themselves a very handy heating device- a menopause. My heating only goes on for visitors, who usually sit in the living room in their coats. Saves so much money in winter- unfortunately I spend all that I save in winter during the summer powering fans.

Domestic supplies will not be affected.

If you run a business you can get an "interruptible" supply for a lower price than normal electricity supply, which means at times of extreme demand, you may be effectively cut off.
