Bad Weather: Roads and Public Transport - 01/12/2010

Recommended Posts

Tempers are getting frayed on the tram, some scrote was kicking at the door swearing his head off at Springs Lane at 7.30am. Dick does he think he's the only one. I had to go back and the tram was struggling up past Gleadless Townend.

From the Stagecoach Supertram homepage:

"We are currently aiming to operate a limited (20 minute) service on the Yellow and Blue Routes. Herdings Park will not be served until further notice We are experiencing delays due to other road users but will continue to operate a service throughout the day. We would like to assure all of our customers that trams are not normally withdrawn from service when there is heavy snow. We will inevitably suffer delays or blockages due to other road traffic, particularly abandoned cars, but over recent days we have continued to provide a service when other operators have had no choice but to take services off......."

Was going to get tram from Hillsborough to Woodbourne road, but trams in hillsborough are running out of sequence, sometimes wait for 40 mins, other times loads at once apparently.

Was advised that tram takes at least a very long time to get there, and is possibly not even running to that point. Back indoors until tomorrow I think!
