Look North have just reported that all bus services in Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster have been suspended.

Snowfall in South Yorkshire - Wednesday 1 December * Services now suspended *

Wednesday 01 December 2010

Bad Weather

Area: Across South Yorkshire

Cause: Snowfall / Ice

Responsibility: n/a

Duration: Unknown

* Updated 0550 hours *

Due to the severe nature of the weather over the past 24 hours, and the serious and unsafe condition of many roads in South Yorkshire, First have taken the decision to suspend ALL services at the present time.

In addition to deep and drifted snow, the effects of ice, and abandoned vehicles make it impossible to provide even a basic service at the present time.

just been listening to radio sheffield and they have reported that trams seem to be running normally....although ive been up for over 40 mins and havent heard one outside my house at malin bridge.

if anybody can dispute this, please do let me know....my works policy is to get to the nearest office, but whilst the nearest is in hillsborough, actually the tram ride to attercliffe would be far preferable than trogging through the snow locally!

My husband waited for a tram for 1/2 hour at crystal peaks - only one was going towards halfway. I think they are having to stop to clear the tracks. Not good
