My husband was at University tram stop at 0640, just missed a Meadowhall tram then waited 40 minutes for another. Word came through that the next tram is stuck at Hllsborough due to a problem with the track.

Trams are now not running as they cannot change tracks due to the lines being frozen - this was announced by driver at Hillsborough as the tram broke down.

Can anyone check this out?

I've been told that the points are stuck up at Middlewood. I have also seen a yellow route tram coming from Hillsborough stop before Leppings Lane, change its lights to Not In Service, and reverse away, so it sounds like the story of no trams from Middlewood is accurate at the moment and they're not sending any more trams up there.
