Unlucky SFFC Lose Out Late On

SFFC conceded with only 5 minutes remaining to go down 3-2 at home to AFC Phoenix. Currently going through a very rough patch, SFFC missed an early penalty. Despite pressure, SF then conceded a route one goal, straight over the top of the defence to make it 1-0. Phoenix then scored a second the same way making it 2-0 at half time.

In the second half, SFFC continued the pressure and eventually pulled one back through Kevin Carroll. Phoenix keeper was in top form as he kept several efforts out before a Daniel Sheedy corner found Ashley Matthews who powered a header into the keeper right hand corner.

Forum continued the pressure pushing for a winner with Phoenix playing on the counter. From a throw-in, the ball found its way across the area as a Phoenix player got a touch to knock the ball into the far corner to give them a 3-2 win. Pressure after the goal did not produce anything as Sheffield Forums poor home form continued.

It was a great attacking performance from SFFC today and very unlucky to lose out.

Home again next week against Queens Ground.
