Omg xbox is ssooo noisy!!

Hi

 

Just bought it tonight. Not had one before. Used to PS3. So i apologise if some comments or questions are obvious!

 

Its a 250g special kinect edition slim.

 

When it launches a game the noise for a few seconds its ridiculous! Like a chainsaw starting up!! Im used to a ps3 which does not make sudden loud noises! Even the dog looks up when it does it as if to say 'what the hell is that!!!' it doesnt do it all the time just when launching a disk i think mainly and then every so often!

 

Is this normal!

My older Elite sounds like an aircraft taking off. Seems to work OK but the noise is a real distraction.

Just install the games to the HDD - if you do this it's practically silent.

My 360s is really quiet, i would take it back and let them listen to it.

It´s nothing unusual - PuressenceUK has already pointed out - just install the games and you will have peace

I phoned game up and they said its normal for xbox to make a slight noise, he agreed ps3 makes no noise at all.

 

Its only for first 5mins of disk being in, then it goes quiet. Still going to take it to gane cos manager said he will have a listen to it

Been to game and they thoroughly looked and listened and said its fine! They said its the fans going round as the disk is loading, and some games take longer to load than others whilst in play.

Some games do spin up faster than others when you load them, i have even seen it on the PS3, but not with as many games I will admit!

 

The PS3 makes much more noise than the 360 when it warms up a bit, lots of my m8s with PS3's comment how quiet my 360 is, and that's a phat 120GB Elite!
