Need some urgent advice!

Recommended Posts

I have been having moderate throat pain for the past 3 weeks which has triggered off pain in my mouth, ears, face, head, neck, shoulders and back, I Am also having abdominal pain and a lot of diarrhoea and I think I had a bit of blood on my stools earlier.

I have already been referred to an ENT specialist and a Gastroentrologist but I could be waiting weeks or months to see them and my pain is now severe pararacetamol and painkillers are no longer working and

My GP is doing nothing about it so I don't know where to go from here do I go to A&E? Or would it be a waste of time? Is there any chance they would admit me and do a Nasendoscopy or an Endoscopy?

Thank you.

Sounds like either you are a hypochondriac or possibly quite unwell.

Bold, yes. You could try NHS direct, but if you say what you have written in here, they'll suggest A+E.

They'd probably hold you in MAU after an assessment, if they though it bad, and do the procedure tomorrow.

Please don't phone an ambulance if you're not seriously unwell...you are allowed to drive to A&E.

Being brought in an ambulance doesn't get you seen any quicker nor does it make you look more unwell.

Your GP is doing something about it...they referred you to specialists.

A&E may do some blood tests and as ash says they *may* admit you. They might send you home too if they decide you're not too unwell.

Yes it would be a waste of time and money to go to A & E so please don't bother them. You are already under the doctor for this and have raised a thread on these problems before! Stop panicking and ask the doctor to see a counsellor as it sounds like you are having panic attacks :)

Crumbs, some people really monitor what others say on this forum. I will be in the brown stuff then. :)

Hi, don't panic, blood in stools could be from a burst blood vessel, not necessarily something to panic about but it is something to get checked out. Hope everything goes well. If you are panicking often about health issues, speak to you dr about your anxiety also, and the possibility of depression perhaps. Whether you have a physical illness or you have not, it's not a nice place to be, and you have my sympathy.
