a15l1nn   10 #1 Posted October 26, 2010 where would you most prefer to go out in sheffield for a gig? how do you find out whats on? do you think the sheffield star should advertise local music more?
 Share this content via...
Lady Star   10 #2 Posted October 26, 2010 Telegraph prints what bands are on (local) and when - bigger acts I catch from their websites... Harlequin was great for local bands, but it has a new landlord now and it's not the same... Boardwalk has some interesting stuff on... West Street Live also has locals bands on - best venue is Plug in my estimation though... Leadmill used to be good, and O2 is a old nightclub that does the job, but Plug is a great place to see a band!
 Share this content via...
wutanger   10 #3 Posted October 26, 2010 does it matter ,when a decent band/artist turns up ticket master just robs us anyhow
 Share this content via...
jake   10 #4 Posted October 26, 2010 does it matter ,when a decent band/artist turns up ticket master just robs us anyhow   Why don't you buy your ticket direct from the venue -its a lot cheaper?  I always really like the Boardwalk as a venue - though its very rare I go there these days... the Leadmill used to be my fave venue - but tbh I find it a bit soulless these days.. in the dim & distant past the Lower Refec was an ace venue - though not many folk under 40 will remember that... and for pub gigs I still like the Red House - though more than 20 people and its rammed! Satyr   10 #5 Posted October 26, 2010 West Street live has gotten a lot better over the last couple of years, looking forward to playing there for once this Christmas..  Other than that, the Boardwalk has a great sound, but is often empty, Corporation has a dire sound but is packed, and I've not been in Plug or the Leadmill in years
 Share this content via...
