Oldtrout   10 #161 Posted April 22, 2013 Asking for a friend who would like new guttering/soffits on her mid-terrace, ex-council house. The existing ones are the original wooden ones, ie 56 years old.  She's not sure whether to have plastic or aluminium. Could anyone offer any advice please.  Thanks
 Share this content via...
mjhal   10 #162 Posted April 22, 2013 aluminium gutter is a good way needs no maintenance apart from cleaning  plastic guttering needs a bit more maintenance as the joints have rubber seals which perish after time  but both are good options
 Share this content via...

MikeDaMouse   10 #164 Posted April 22, 2013 If its possible i would opt for the Seamless aluminium Guttering. It is miles better than plastic. It doesn’t loose its colour like plastic does. Also because it gets put in in one piece you don't have to worrie about joints leaking a couple of years down the line.
 Share this content via...

bungleboy69 Â Â 101 #166 Posted April 22, 2013 If its mid terrace with wood guttering either side you might not have any option than to replace with wood unless the neighbours all decide to upgrade too.
 Share this content via...
