Tony Erikson 10 #1 Posted October 22, 2010 "The cosmos is also within us, we're made of star stuff. We are a way for the cosmos to know itself." Carl Sagan What do you think to the above statement? I remember when I first heard it my mind woke up. How simple yet magnificent a way to look at the things around us. It doesn't imply a creator, it doesn't imply a reason for our existence. It just simply states what we are. What's your favourite statement?
 Share this content via...

Genius cannot cope with itself. Alot of the most intelligent and imaginative people use things to cope with there minds. The mad artist etc. You can't escape your own brain. I like "Cada uno de nosotros podemos hacer algo" / "Each one of us can do something" from Oscar Romero, Archbishop of San Salvador (until his assassination in 1980). esme 10 #7 Posted October 23, 2010 Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life - weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. So, forget Jesus. The stars died so that you could be here today. - Lawrence Krauss
 Share this content via...
