Most charity shops will not accept electrical items.

AFAIK Bluebell Wood have someone who does the necessary legal PAT tests on donated electrical items

I would also suggest British Heart Foundation. At least they will collect.

 

I found most charities very unwelcoming when I had to clear a relatives house. One said they would take everything... but when the "3 idiots and a van" arrived they just wanted to scam us for money. A complaint just got abuse.

Freecycle and you will just see other people make money on your goods.

the one in chap will not take any electrical items at all ..not even electric blankets..

Theres a charity shop near morrisons hillsborough (can't remember the name sorry) and they have lots of electrical items so they'd take it.
