Oh no I really liked the Wig & Pen, went there a few times for dinner and always seemed really busy.

V sad to see it go! Had lots of good nights, my stag party do upstairs and a few good work dos in there. I always liked it for a quiet drink & the nice food, but I suppose that was the thing, it was usually quiet.

ATB to Craig and the crew.

Only clue is that it will be open again in the next couple of weeks.

The new management are having a bit of a spring clean first.

A skip has been delivered to the site today and a chap who looks very much like one of the guys from The Milestone is on site. If it is them I for one am very exited and hope they open before christmas and make a real go of it!

That wasn't a skip that was a Skoda. But seriously, I hope they still have real ale on and the quality is better than when I went in. This is ironic because it was the Month, when Sheffield CAMRA gave it Public House of the Month.

I think that platillos was part of the reason wig and pen went under, on top of fractured relationships within the management. Business is hard enough when you get on never mind when you dont.

I've heard it's the Milestone taking it on, what a shame.

Because the Wig and Pen food was superior to the Milestones , unpretentious , no gimmicks and value for money plus good service.
