If he's still living he lives in the Woodhouse area, he is a local historian and used to write in the church magazine

I'm sad to hear Len Widdowson has recently died, aged around 100. He compiled several books on Beighton, Woodhouse and Hackenthorpe and did a lot to promote local history.

I have a book Around Hackenthorpe that he wrote. It's very interesting. He also lived near to my Mum's family home on East Glade at Hackenthorpe.

Top bloke Len was RIP, a good author , historian and if I am not mistaken the local insurance broker .
