Had the most bizarre "publication" through our door last week. It was a single sheet of A5 printed in tiny writing on both sides and entitled "Herald (today and tomorrow)". At first glance it seemed to be divided into paragraphs, but looking more closely the paragraph breaks occur half way through sentences. It is basically a load of absolute nonsense, seemingly from someone angry about anything and everything - global warming, bad government Marks and Spencers and Israel. The grammar is so appalling as to make it almost unreadable. About half of the words inexplicably begin with a capital letter and the punctuation is idiosyncratic. The subjects for the writers ire are bizarrely jumbled up and muddled. Half way down the second page it says that it is distributed by Rasa Media for 'Gaia North East' before moving on (ironically) to how "The Forested land surface of our Planet is irreplacable, half of Earth's Forest has now gone." and a rant about "How can A Lout (Bullingdon club, Fox hunt member) head a UK government and Nastily Plan to back Bloodsports (angling etc.). Cruelty is Cruelty and those who enjoy Cruelty are Sick Perverts."

Yes I had one of these a few months ago, and on a forum somewhere I found that someone had patiently typed out the entire text of a different one from the same people/person. Later I'll see if I can find it again and post it here, it puts the average SF conspiracy theory ranters to shame! One of the maddest things I've seen. What area are you in?

I'm in S8. I found the Gaia North East website too, but that seems to be American and it looks like they had a bit of a bigger budget for their website than this person or people have for their erm... newsletter. (?)

I agree but if you watch the vid on the link it seems that they are an organisation that gives out pretend degrees to drop outs in return for doing good things - my assumption was that perhaps this was someones course work.

Ah, so it was a "real-world project with significant local and global impact".

 

When I received my edition a few months ago I googled Rasa Media but ended up with a company who specialise in wedding videos for the Asian community. I've no idea if they share a connection or not, but it added a satisfyingly surreal touch.
