Acer lapton will not work at all

My friend has a acer laptop but the laptop will not work at all - fine yesterday

now nothing what could be the problem ...

Has it been droped

do any of the lights light up when you start it up

Can you borrow another battery

I've had exactly the same problem. Laptop was plugged into the charger and suddenly turned itself off. Can't get anything at all from it now.

i'm trying to get some info on the laptop... i was thinking on the lines of ac adaptor fault, internal battery fault or switch on computer faulty.. i will get more info soon..

The Laptop seems to just make a clicking sound no boot up at all.

Could it be the HARD DRIVE needs replacing.

You would see something on the screen if it was a failed hard drive.

 

Do you see anything on the screen, are any of the lights on?

a friend had an acer notebook - suddenly stopped working, gets power but hdd sort of clicking...nothing on screen...diagnosed as a motherboard fault i.e not worth repairing BUT

 

another mate who is excellent at fixing things took a look - googled the symptoms, and maanaged to find a way to flash the mo'board, and hey presto: right as rain now

 

if you want him to take a look then PM me - i'm still amazed at how he brought this one back from the dead!

Normally hard drive failure would give an error message on the screen.

 

Any other clicks or whirs? Do any lights come on?

Try removing the battery, then try again.

CAn you test the power supply?
