Gmail is Google's new email service.. It hasn't been fully launched to the public yet, hence having to send invites to people.

Gmail is just another web based email system, same as hotmail really, except it has a large storage capacity so you dont need to keep deleting your emails.

Cheers Spyro. :thumbsup::clap:

Another advantage of Gmail is that it likes attachments in emails, Hotmail IMO is crap with attachments.

imo Theres nothing special about it really. If I need space then theres space on my hard drive to store stuff.

Wasnt there a report a while back saying that it may be spyware orientated?

If you have a Gmail account, you can use Google Talk Which IMO > Skype and MSN.

With Google Talk you can call other users for free, just like having a phone on your PC.. Skype makes you pay for calls :gag:

It is pretty clever, as the people with the invites feel that they are 'special', when as a matter of fact absolutely anyone can get a Gmail address if they want one.

Gmail also has the advantage of being able to embed your mail account into the Google search engine page. Plus a huge variety of other information available on the same page.

Sure, and it has an air of exclusivity about it. You can't get a GMail account without an invite, making GMail accounts all the more desireable (you want what you can't have, or what's harder to get).

It seems nothing more that a clever way of getting you to involve your friends in their free web based EMail.

Viral Marketting?
