my dad grandad uncles and cousins all worked there some of them lived in doncasters houses

Just found this thread. Does anyone remember George Hudson? would have been about 32 in 1953. He worked at Daniel Doncasters as a Die Sinker? Whatever that is/was. Lived on Edmund Road Sheffield.

I attended a three day course at Doncasters in the sixties. This was a time when local firms competed to attract school leavers (can you imagine that now?). I also remember being shown around Hadfields and traipsing underground at Manvers Main.

The only thing I can remember about Doncasters is the canteen and the toasted dripping cakes. :hihi:
