sheffmusic   10 #17 Posted November 3, 2010 crookes valley used to be some of the best roach fishing in sheffield and there is some massive carp in there upto around the 30lb mark. there is 1 particular fish called 'misty' which can be identified by a white mark on its back near its dorsal. this is the beast of the lake but catching the carp is a lottery, very hard work best way is floater fishing in summer but be prepared for some frustrating sessions and blanks.
