Amanda88t   10 #1 Posted August 24, 2010 I was just at Ruskin park in Walkley and this Black dog was out on its own, it was expressing very dominant behaviour stalking me my partner and my pup. Eventually he came up with his hackles up but was being ok. Then he started marking over everything in a space of about 3 mins he had marked at least 10 times! Then he tried to pee on buster but he managed to get out of the way (just) so he peed else where again - now at about 15 markings and then he decided that my leg was his!!!  I have never known a dog to be so dominant that it marks a human as its own. once he left us alone he marked all the way round the park.   Is it usual to come across dogs marking that much! Is it possible that he was a stud and thats why he was so dominant?  I am just confused at this and cross that I got used for a lamp post! Sarah1985 Â Â 10 #2 Posted August 24, 2010 Some dogs do have a tendancy to wee up peoples legs and every other vertical post. It could be that theres an in season bitch in the area that set his scenting off behaviour and that why he was putting such a huge effort into spreading his scent around. Â Just be glad you werent wearing shorts
 Share this content via...

Binga   10 #4 Posted August 24, 2010 Most un-neutered dogs will mark often even if it is just alittle squirt. I think that you have just got in the way and therefore soggy trousers:).......glad you are out and about with Buster...bet your chuffed! Amanda88t   10 #5 Posted August 25, 2010 Yeah I am so glad to have him out of the house! he's really enjoying himself! And is doing well off of the lead. how do you calculate how long a pup can go for a walk?  Thing I didnt get is he was neutered - its just twigged. It just strikes me as weird unless he used to be a stud.  Oh well I now have a funny stain on my trousers.
 Share this content via...
Binga   10 #6 Posted August 25, 2010 My Mums Border Collie who was a late neuter (about 9 years old) will still even now **** his legs against anything new or interesting. As for walks and length.....I would get out 3 times aday for about 30 mins each....not too much distance covered but quality time socialising. sherakapod   10 #11 Posted September 7, 2010 I have been peed up by sooo many dogs I have a bit of a complex. Not sure why. I once 'browned' my legs with gravy browning and got stalked by a dog that then licked a white stipe up one of my legs. Still love dogs though
 Share this content via...
