Purchasing a kitchen

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm thinking of purchasing a kitchen from JA Horne Starlight that are on penistone road and carlisle street.

Was wondering if anyone from the forum have used them before for a purchasing a kitchen and what their experiences were.

Thanks for your time.

I have known of J A Horne for the last 20 years and know of quite a few people who have employed them and never heard of anything negative towards them. My neighbour had a kitchen of theirs fitted last year and was happy with it.

one of the first things to do when buying a kitten is to measure it and make sure it will fit in your microwave for when you get fed up with it

Ignore maggie - evidently has post something, even if totally irrelevant or stupid.

I don't know about Starlight but I was very pleased with Creative Interiors (on Crookesmoor Road). They did my bathroom & cloakroom too. This was 4 years ago. I'm still very happy with the quality!

I had a quote from Starlight, amongst others, but ended up using Phil Greenwood to fit the kitchen and got the units from Sheffield Kitchen Outlet (also on Carlisle Street). Better choice, quality, design and value than the others I found. Phil can be contacted on 07729625901. Sheffield Kitchen Outlet also have a website. I'm very happy with my kitchen which was fitted in April this year.

My aunt got quotes from all over and chose Starlight. She is delighted with the price / service / speed etc etc. Two friends have also had them and are very happy too.

Hi, I have a company that specialises in the renovation of houses including kitchens. My brother also owns a bespoke kitchen and furniture company, his stuff is more top end kitchens, but through him I have sourced many suppliers of quality kitchens. I use a company that makes quality carcasses, the carcasses they build very solid with 18mm backs and all the other aspects you normally expect. They are supplied with Blum hinges and draws ect. What set this company aside from the others is they use security edging on the fronts of the carcasses rather than the standard iron on edging, iron on edging can be damaged easier, you need special machinery to apply the security edging. They also have great customer service, manufacture from any of the UK Egger board colour range and can make bespoke sized units if required.

I have various companies I use for the doors, this depends on the customers requirements and budget. These range for Italian high gloss to standard high gloss, stained or painted oak to vinyl wrapped.

We can sort out all the fitting and and any other works you may require.

Give me a call before you go ahead with your order, I've been round all the suppliers in sheffield (Howdens, Sheffield Kitchen Outlet, Supafit, Starlight, ect) before using the companies I now source from. By using different companies you can get a more quality Kitchen for the same price or less.

Hope to hear from you soon, my number is 07737633100

Kind Regards,

Tom Hutton

Hi,

I can vouch for Phil Greenwood too, he's done a few that I know of and all are fantastic. Let him come and give you a quote before you decide, it can't hurt.:)

Got to agree with the posts recommending Phil Greenwood 07729625901.

Supplied and fitted my kitchen which was from the Sheffield Outlet. Took me down to the outlet where he helped me design my kitchen. He and his team did an amazing job. Very reliable, trustworthy and Phil is a real problem solver. Well worth a call.....

Just thought I would provide an update to the thread I started.

I purchased the kitchen from JA Horne Starlight on Carlisle Street. They fitted the kitchen on the date I requested. They said it would take two days to fit and they would arrive at 7:30-8am each day. They were true to their word, everything went so smoothly and their fitters made sure I was happy with everything before they left my property.

Can't recommend them highly enough, they have left me with a superb fitted kitchen with a 25 year guarantee on any problems with the kitchen units.

The other thing that I really liked was that you only pay for the kitchen once their fitters have fitted the kitchen in your home (you do have to pay a deposit before hand). This was the selling point for me as many other Kitchen companies use independent fitters and request you pay fully for the kitchen for the goods at the time of delivery. I was worried if I do that I would not personally know what to check on the order and check if any units were damaged.

Anyway I'm one really satisfied customer from JA Horne Starlight. I'm sure there are plenty of other really good companies out there but just wanted to give some special mention to JA Horne Starlight.

Thanks for reading.
