gremlin_mick   10 #2 Posted August 6, 2010 Maggots maggots and more maggots!  There's Chub and Roach in there that are pristine. Heard tell of Barbel too, but never seen any myself.  Watch out for the Crayfish though....
 Share this content via...
ratter71 Â Â 10 #3 Posted August 6, 2010 Had pike, perch and chub on a spinner. Theres quite a few barbel in there, and ive been told some big carp. The stretch above the weir at beighton is around 15'-20' deep. I was told by some blokes that are always down there that the best method is feeder fished marine halibut pellets. alex3659 Â Â 11 #4 Posted August 6, 2010 Had some barbel above the weir at beighton only a couple of pound each. It's not bad sport and you can travel light.
 Share this content via...

biggsy   10 #10 Posted November 8, 2010 are the crayfish edible - or big enough to be worth eating?   Hi  Yes, they're good to eat, only eat the larger signal crayfish though as our native ones are very rare now..  Here's a link to a series of pics with explanations going through catching them to cooking and eating them, very interesting!!    John:)
 Share this content via...
