JohnBook   10 #99 Posted September 10, 2016 Le Grande Illusion, from Jean Renoir (son of the painter)! It was made in like the 30s but it feels really modern to me--some of the shots remind me of Spielberg and it has a sense of character that a lot films from that era miss.
