Vehicle Control Services, Centertainment, Sheffield

Hi there, Just had an Intent to Issue Court Proceedings from this company. It says I was Parked beyond the bay markings at Centertainment on 14 July 2010. Yes I was at the cinema on that date with my 3 granddaughters but I was parked on the road, past the double yellow lines, so parked on the road. It was pouring down with rain and we saw a space, loads of other people parked there. When came out of cinema got into car, no notification that I had received any ticket, as it says in this letter. Have been back since and confirmed that there are no notices saying you cannot park on the road and the notices are infact in the car park, so from the road you cannot see them. What should I do. I dont dispute that I was at the car park, but I did not see the notice that was apparently issued. The fine is now £120. I have asked around and am told that these fines are unenforceable. Could someone give me some advice please. Thank you.

If you do a search on Excel Parking there are quite a few threads about dealing with 'notices' of this nature, good luck :)
