Agent Orange   11 #2 Posted July 26, 2010 Use a conversion tool like this:  http://www.convertunits.com/from/litres/to/gallon+%5BUK%5D
 Share this content via...
cgksheff   44 #3 Posted July 26, 2010 (edited) How many miles to the gallon do you expect? 45? How much do you expect to pay for your fuel? £1.10 per litre?  You need to know the answers to these before trying to do any conversions.  If it was 50 miles per gallon and £1.10 per litre the calculation would be:  200/50= 4 gallons 4 gallons x 4.545 = 18.18 litres 18.18 x £1.10 = £20 Edited July 26, 2010 by cgksheff
 Share this content via...

cgksheff   44 #5 Posted July 26, 2010 So all you need to know is ... "Roughly, between £20 & £25".... but it will be more expensive if you have a bigger fuel tank.
 Share this content via...
ChrisT70   10 #6 Posted July 26, 2010 brim the car full. drive say around 100 miles in your usual fashion (ie town driving). then brim it again, and from the reciept given find out how many litres used to refill it. that will give you how many litres used for that 100m. miles divided by litres = litres per mile. ie say 25litres used got you 100miles so 100/25= 4 litres/mile  very easy to work out then multiply x 4.54 to give mpg ie 4 x 4.54= 18mpg approx.  you can do this for motorway driving to get the mpg for that if you wanted, fill up at the start of a trip and pull into motorway services along the way to do an instant refil and calc. ChrisT70   10 #7 Posted July 26, 2010 most modern diesels on the 1.9 peugeot/citroen engine should do 35-40ish mpg around town and nearer 45-50mpg on a run if you drive steady. 200miles of motorway work would cost you about £21 at todays diesel rates based on 50mpg. Anting   10 #8 Posted July 26, 2010 Fill up the tank - drive 200 miles and then go to the petrol station again and fill up and pay. That's exactly how much it costs.  A
 Share this content via...
