Yep bogus!!! - HMRC would NEVER EVER email you!!!!!!

And they'd certainly never OFFER you a refund ... you have to drag them kicking and screaming to the cashpoint! :D

No half-competent email program will ever download an e-mail attachment merely because you clicked on the email. What sort of antiquated software are you using that you still have to worry about such things?

Don't take any notice of the what the link says it is; right-click, copy the link location, and paste it into your browser address to find out where it will really take you.

 

I'd lay a very heavy sum of money that it will take you to a fake website which includes the name of a genuine bank somewhere in it, but actually ends in something else.

Why don't you ring your local tax office and find out? If it is genuine, then they will be able to confirm it.. If it is a scam, they need to know anyway...

You have to APPLY for a refund - they won't just email you about it.

 

Stay well away. Maybe report it to HMRC too.
