HeadingNorth   11 #9 Posted July 22, 2010 But you did click on it though. That's how computers get infected with viruses and spyware.  No half-competent email program will ever download an e-mail attachment merely because you clicked on the email. What sort of antiquated software are you using that you still have to worry about such things?
 Share this content via...
HeadingNorth   11 #10 Posted July 22, 2010 i havent done anything, but when you click the link it takes you to your bank log in page,or does it??:suspect:   Don't take any notice of the what the link says it is; right-click, copy the link location, and paste it into your browser address to find out where it will really take you.  I'd lay a very heavy sum of money that it will take you to a fake website which includes the name of a genuine bank somewhere in it, but actually ends in something else. dizzy_chick   10 #11 Posted July 22, 2010 Why don't you ring your local tax office and find out? If it is genuine, then they will be able to confirm it.. If it is a scam, they need to know anyway...
 Share this content via...
ukstudent   10 #12 Posted July 22, 2010 You have to APPLY for a refund - they won't just email you about it.  Stay well away. Maybe report it to HMRC too.
 Share this content via...
