Remember the Fiesta, I was working there as assistant stage manager when it opened and stayed for 3 years Opening night acts were the Shadows suported by Bill Goodwin and Ayisha, nice singer I wonder what happened to her.

Any memories of the place?

What a great night out it used to be, fantastic acts too. We saw Blue Mink final tour, Detroit Emeralds. Barron Knights, and many more, went to see Tommy Cooper but he didn't turn up! The compere Tony White was brill....Fantastic atmosphere - and chicken in a basket too! We often talk about it even now, what a shame it closed.

I saw a few top names perform there, Tina Turner in 1977 i think. Had a basket meal at the table!! Disco room downstairs as well.

Also think Mick Crich worked on the door for a while with his mate Harold...

He died in 1995, of leukemia. after he retired from showbiz he opened a cleaning company in Las Vegas were they specialised in preparing buildings offices etc for new occupants. He was brilliant live. But never seemed to be able to transfer this to recored.
