Can anyone tell me the name of the chocolate covered bars you could buy year's ago. They did I mint one and an orange one, and it was quite a long bar, probably size of a double mars you can now buy. I would say they were at least an inch thick maybe more. The only way to describe the filling would be to say it was a sort of meringue consistency only firmer. You could scrape your teeth down em ! I know I need to get out more :loopy::loopy:

I used to buy these during the '60s in Belfast, but I don't think that was the brand name then....

Description is spot-on, though - a poor man's Crunchie.

Maybe 10 minutes to eat, followed by an hour digging it out from between your teeth!

I remember them as the maxi-bar,  I used to have the mint and orange flavours from a little corner shop opposite my junior school.  They were like a flavoured hard meringue texture, coated in chocolate. Does anyone know who used to make them?   I would love to have these again!

Oh, I thought they were awful.  I absolutely loved the Thornton's fondant bars in mint, orange and coffee.

I remember the Needlers bars.  They looked like shards when you bit into them.
