Dig deeper still, and it turns out the windows were tinted after the original cloth modesty barriers (which had been in place for a number of years) became damaged.

My eldest daughter, not a Muslim btw, is at that age where she's increasingly self-conscious. I have more than enough trouble persuading her to go swimming as it is, and she prefers as few people to see her in a bikini as possible. If there was a question of a modesty barrier at our local pool she'd be all for it.

 

She is self conscious but wears a bikini to go swimming in?

A swimsuit might be better.

Most tabloid outrage stories are written with such people in mind, which is why the mitigating facts are always slipped into the last para or two, where the casual reader will miss them...
